Forty Eight years and still unknown, Joe Debow was born in Louisville Kentucky to a gospel family and was brought up on gospel and blues. Joe's early influences started with his mother, a singer and his dad, who played in a band. In the 1950's he listened to the radio and heard Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. Joe developed his singing range and style with much sacrifice and lots of sweat and dedication to his craft. He has made his living playing and singing music.
Joseph DeBow is an accomplished singer/songwriter and native son of Louisville. He has been performing since 1963, and has appeared on talent and television shows, including the Nashville Network. Joe has a weekly television show appearing on Insight channel 98. In 1986 he was the winner of the Budwiser Star contest with his original song “Genuine.” Additionally, Joe has recorded with Tony-Joe White, performed with Grammy-winning artists Living Colour and Carla & Rufus Thomas. He has opened shows for B.B. King, Koko Taylor, The Manhattans and The Chi-Lites.
In 2012 Joe DeBow Opened for the World renouned Boney James, earning his spot amongst the great singers and songerwriters of his time.
With his versatility as a solo artist and with his band, with acoustic guitar, keyboards and harmonica has kept him in demand in the Louisville area. Joe plays a variety of original songs, blues, R & B, rock jazz, reggae and popular music, which gives him universal appeal to fans of all ages.
